A hero who can passively or actively become 'out of the game', no longer are you able to click on them or target them with abilities. Targeted projectiles already en route will generally fizzle out if it's target becomes untargetable.
A very useful status for a character with very low resistances, in order to buy time for your cooldowns to recharge, or your teammates to come save you, or in some cases dealing damage while still untargetable.
